Lucy Pratt
Born in Oxfordshire in 1970. Studied at Banbury School of Art, Loughborough School of Art and Cheltenham School of Art. Worked at MOMA (Oxford) before teaching life drawing for Cheltenham School of Art. She currently lives and works in Oxfordshire.
Lucy Pratt has the remarkable ability of being able to transform whatever she chooses to paint, into imagery which is refreshingly vital and colourful. Her work always appears to express her immediate spontaneous joy in painting the subject. She is able to communicate this admirably with her use of great colour combinations and well-designed pictures. Thus we are all able to participate in the experience, leaving us with memories of breathing in lovely fresh air and knowing that it is good to be alive!
Lucy Pratt has had many solo exhibitions including: Ainscough Contemporary Art, London (1998/99/2000/01/02/03/05), Adamson, Miller, Boone, Atlanta, USA (1998), Moreton Street Gallery, Pimlico, London (1998/99) and Coves Quay Gallery, Salcombe (2002/04/06).
Her work is in many public collections throughout the world including: Paintings in Hospitals Collection, Mitchell Museum, Cedarhurst Sculpture Park (Mount Vernon, USA) and numerous private collections in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, the USA and the UK.
