Bridget Lansley

Bridget has been painting full-time for more than twenty years, during which time she has studied 20th-century art with Robin Child. She paints with energy and a strong sense of narrative. Her subjects include figures, still life, flower paintings and rural scenes. She has a passion for the country, inspiring her shooting scenes, for which she is well-known.

Bridget comes from a family of artists. She began her career in publishing, which nurtured an involvement with the art world, leading her to develop a later passion for painting.

Bridget’s skill lies in painting from her own inspiration and memory. Her paintings gradually evolve, interpreting complex compositions into simplified blocks of colour. She paints with a carefully controlled palette, with muted tones which are enlivened by a surprising vibrancy. She has a gift for extracting the essence of a scene, and conveying it with clarity and charm. Bridget’s work inspires a new perspective on a familiar world.

She has gained well-deserved recognition with established galleries both in London and the Home Counties. Her work can be seen in exhibitions in London, Berkshire, Gloucestershire and Rutland. Her regular solo shows have increased her renown in the U.K., and in recent years, she has achieved a significant international following.
