Native of Llangennech, Llanelli, educated at Llanelli Boys Grammar School and graduate of University of Wales, Swansea. Carmarthen has been his home for over 30 years.. he was Deputy Headmaster of Ysgol Gyfun Bro Myrddin, Carmarthen.
The Form and colour of the landscape and buildings of his wales, are his love and inspiration… the palette knife his medium. His initial influence was his Art Master at Llanelli Boys – John Bowen – today’s main influence is Gwilym Prichard.
He exhibits at Swansea’s Attic Gallery, at MOMA Wales at the Tabernacle Museum of Modern Art in Machynlleth, the Albany Gallery Cardiff, the Koywood Gallery Cardiff, Plas Glyn y Weddw Gallery Llanbedrog, the Bridge Gallery Aberystwyth and the Antiques Gallery at Feryside, The Lion St Gallery Hay on Wye and the Fosse Gallery. His work has been shown on television – ‘ Y Sioe Gelf’ and ‘P’nawn Da’.
He is an Art Commentator on S4C.
Painting affords the opportunity to transform well known and much loved scenes, into an art form – in this way, one becomes aware of the timelessness of our seas and mountains. The challenge is, by using a palette knife, rather than a brush, to express with precision, the emotional response to nature.
